Dave Smith, Investment Director
Prior to Saints, Mr. Smith spent six years with European Acquisition Capital Ltd, an independent private equity
firm active in the Western European lower mid-market with €500m of funds under management. At EAC, Mr. Smith was
focused on the UK market, with responsibility for all stages of the investment process from origination and
appraisal, through transaction execution and post investment management to exit. A generalist investor, EAC
specialized in genuine growth opportunities (including consolidation and roll out strategies) and turnaround
situations. During his time at EAC, Mr. Smith was directly involved in the investment of over €125m in five
transactions. Prior to this, Mr. Smith spent two years working with Invex Capital, a London based corporate finance
boutique specializing in the creation and management of MBI transactions. This role included the sourcing of both
transaction opportunities and MBI candidates, as well as business plan creation and raising of funding. Before
joining Invex, Mr. Smith spent almost five years with Ernst & Young, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant
and worked in both the audit and corporate finance practices.
Mr. Smith holds a BSc (Joint Honors) in Psychology and Zoology from the University of Bristol.
